Rising ... toooo ...

Resident Rising ... loading ...
ZOMBIE George Romero is one of my favorite movies.
In 1983, when the movie came out, I was 11 years. The Italian had the premiere in 1978, they had time to make worship and "prohibited under sixteen." What was (and remains) largely justified. This object will remain inaccessible and unreal to me long enough.

The protagonists at the beginning of the film arrive by helicopter and take refuge on the roof of a huge mall. Quickly, the top floor of the mall (American term to describe the equivalent of our Galeries Lafayette, if they were located in suburbs with an exterior-type Super-u!) Survivors (four in number) go s' develop a more comfortable living space. ...

everything ... the mall is accessible to them, all their existing consumer goods are available (they are no more "keepers" in the literal sense!). The paradise of consumption and desire ... in short. The food
essential food through clothing or luxury shoes, even the latest console next gen and all its games (read the Atari 2600 and the game "BATTLE" brand new "We're in 1977).. It's all here! But then, since their high-end TV (for the time) our heroes are soon confirmed that the country (and the world, presumably) is increasingly infested with zombies and that "live" are now minority. Obviously, each of their runs on the lower floors (to collect some food and other consumer products, more or less dispensable, their recall how point the living dead and many are increasingly present. ... everywhere, swarming zombies! Atmosphere. RESIDENT EVIL
Shinji Mikami Resident Evil
The game, released on PlayStation in 1996 and is designed with CAPCOM to him when one of my favorite games as it is immersive, innovative and alive (more on this!) ... It will d Besides its pedigree to the survival horror not to say that he invented the genre ... I risk making enemies among the most chauvinistic of you! (The first "survival game" 3D is "Alone in the Dark, Infogrames society and therefore a French national.) ... Anyway ! Dead Rising

Imagine, then, my delight when today on a console (Xbox 360), I see for the first time, with its stunning visual record, the band announced that CAPCOM Dead Rising comes on this new medium to create a game ... which the action, the scenario and frame are fully and directly inspired the cult classic, Zombie.
One of the most significant films of its atmosphere and the direct involvement which it submits to us ... which it could be add pleasure that can come to play to survive! (Hitchcock suspense talk) Feel this moment in each pixel and a early masterpieces (18 +) video game: Rouiisident eeeeevillll!
is simple: I bought the console for this game!

DEAD RISING / RESIDENT EVIL, only now, the resulting brief comparison of these two games will ultimately only one way: to highlight the blockbuster current duality / Games cult founders. The benefits of technological developments / Interest of retro gaming ... which any gamer (retro or not) may be facing!
You're still here? So I go ... When I
played Resident Evil (PlayStation) in the first weeks, the summary is simple ... I was so into the game as my daily and its perception has been transformed into real!

A plant red or green on a flight? ... I wanted to take to prepare the mixture survival game! A prosecutor
a bit creaky in a row and now my former Paris apartment became a mansion lost in a forest! An impasse, an alley, a subway station after dark? So many places to potential danger ("I smell a hunter here) ... when reality becomes a game and play one second life, it can give it! Some will see a childlike regression, those there I say go your way ... I have a shotgun in his hands and they remain in cartridges, but if look carefully, you'll see!

CVZ is still OTAKU ^ ^!

On Dead Rising, I was amazed on the first moments of the game: First, since the helicopter, flying over the town completely overrun by zombies roaring. Then this is the transcript and the beginning of the film and the effect of immersion that bewitched me ... we are with the characters, immersed in this world whose atmosphere does not recall the film, it is stronger: there is and you participate! Since the helicopter (already) and all along this virtual life, you can also take pictures. It embodies, in addition, a kind of adventurer ... see my dream in a nightmare, actually ... a sweet Salt takes pretty good!
But, hey ... Resident Evil
On first name (and then second and third) round I remade the game again and again until round up all the bonuses .... Hidden items (weapons and extra clothing) find that even with an unparalleled joy, a character scenarios and provided in supplements, for my type of bitter. With
, who have more, be happy to replay the same stages of the game, which is renewed without flaws. With experience, the depth of the gameplay is increasingly perceived mastery and pushes us to do still more.
Suddenly, the urge to return to live in this town worrying "racoon city" to find again and again and pass other news, again, to escape, becomes enormous,
The masterpieces are Alive! The more one plays the more they reveal their strengths.

Conversely, on Dead Rising, I spent, how much? an hour and a half. What about the gameplay? The game fun? and the desire to part time? There? I want to fly over the subject! Like its early promise ... yet!
I found the software pretty large, well built ... but the general impression that remains ... in a word? : Boring!
A conclusion to this comparative Next gen / retro? It happens ...

On one side a game with rich textures and crisp, the graphics engine and dynamic performance and offers a vast and detailed world. ... But with the loss in passing the point: a soul!
the other timeless charm ... a game that remains, part time and therefore in history. Simply unforgettable.

Yet these two titles, had three points in common (at least) who could afford and, at the outset to expect comparable sensations ...
The same author, George Romero, director of engineering who invented and turned down the film into the living dead, through the decades, allegories on the evils and fears of our modern societies. While pointing at any instant, the fragility
our lives ... A great video game maker: Capcom.Qui also is a past master in that art. Stay alive as is obvious, one of the great spring game and even a genre in itself: the survival horror.
And finally a little hope, based on an assumption: evolution, novelty, and especially the contribution of technology could bring us a new set of zombie (unpublished) and better than the remake of Resident Evil on Game cube ( next-generation console from the PlayStation), which had, meanwhile, achieved the impossible by transforming the magnificent head Resident Evil to work in beautiful masterpiece ... it even better! Only here ...

Dead Grapes (I just give automated spell for the occasion.) Finally is the big disappointment!
And by comparing these two games and their release dates separated by about ten years, one can only feel discomfort to compare then and now.
So when yesterday, an innovation (in this case 3D), allowed to create new gaming experience or even a new kind
... Today ... and yet with the same inspirations we arrive at another conclusion and rather scathing ... they are no more souls living in this game.
The reflection of the times?
We have a more developed technology, an insane choice of goods of all types, but there is like a weariness of it all, like an aftertaste of déjà vu, a little bitter or a little bland ... To have real feelings (and having to hit the hand with a false remote!) is extremely rare. Romero had warned us! Living
leaves to survive is more important than experience it, finally!
Dead Rising, as recent fifth episode of "resident" is a game boring, beautifully made (graphics-animation-soundtrack, as it was in my "time") but boring! (Again!). The most frightening in this license today?

Dead Rising 2 will be released probably by the time you read me and the game and (worse) the film! (Yes, really!). Aye, I'm scared!
My good day my Playstation or GameCube still have good times ahead! Although ...
