HARVEST BODY: The preliminary GTA on Nintendo 64 ...

Many people were surprised at the success of GTA III. Not me.

Obviously, I had previously played in a small way that few can claim to have made it popular. One of these games have gone unnoticed at the time but that marked a sustainable manner the history of video game media. But do not repeat past mistakes, take my hand and discover how the greatest series of games for adults began as a set of science-fiction on N64. I named ...

Even as game title of series B, it's not terrible. Yet it was under this name that the first prototype of GTA III was released.

In the course of the years ninety Nintendo was to release a console with a 64 bit processor. Problem, the technology considered too restrictive by many publishers will not attempt a few studios eager to take advantage of the lack of competition in this format futuristic. This initiative called Nintendo "Ultra 64 Dream Team" include companies as diverse as the Scottish small box DMA Design, Rare, LucasArts, Midway Games, or even Paradigm Entertainment (Pilotwings 64). Not big names, of course, but not strangers.

AND NOW, A LITTLE HISTORY

At the time, AMD was especially famous for its expansion and Lemmings on the Amiga and other output formats for personal computers. Their first shots keyboard on SNES will lead them to produce a port of their famous series of little jerks suicidal and later one of the most bizarre games of the machine with Uniracers. The only racing game featuring unicycles living in a world of colorful style nineties. Today, this company is called Rockstar North.

David Jones and John Whyte, the two guys responsible the game before us today will make their weapons in this universe there. Their names do not resonate with much gravitas than Shigeru Miyamoto, but that does sound they should from time to time. For it to them that we owe the concept of play "in the sandbox." (In the second sense, of course. They did not invent the sandbox. That would be silly.) David Jones could yet you seem less unknown, it is he who was the Creative Director of Crackdown Realtime Worlds. A sandbox type game from a small Scottish box. Like what, history repeats itself sometimes our greatest happiness.
Years after the first announcement effects, 1998, Body Harvest project has stalled. Nintendo has demanded changes to the formula proposed by our friends enkiltés. They have refused to add something to their RPG action game. Similarly, they said "nyet" to puzzles Zeldaesques. Of course, the Big N has not seen a good eye. DMA Design

then sees the tap yen dry up and is forced to seek a publisher for what could be a game second-party published by the Kyoto giant. Listless two companies buy the rights to this title odd. Gremlin Interactive will publish the game in Europe, Midway will consider them on the U.S. market. Both will go bankrupt a few years later without having anything to do with this decision. I just like to point out the mediocrity of some companies in passing.
BUT YOU'LL TALK OF THE GAME CASE OF DARK CRETIN?

Body Harvest is the story of a man posted in 2016 aboard the Omega Station. His name? Adam Drake, one of those soldiers flawless grown in vats in which the near future seems to abound. His mission? Defend Earth from an invasion of bizarre anhedral inspired Starship Trooper Verhoeven. His phone number? Do not push it either, Galapiats small band.

Cornered by a horde of monsters from space, our hero is forced to flee the space station where he was defending our beautiful blue planet via the Alpha 1, a spacecraft capable of traveling through time and space. Pan, he's propelled into a gigantic world made by Spartan technical capabilities of the N64. In this goes cubist and shimmering, it may shoot aliens, fly boxes, enter in houses made in LEGO ® and experience the most exhilarating feeling of freedom that so many people believe to be synonymous with Liberty City. With an extra dimension to our friends from the thugs, known as Adam travel various periods of time for land to stop the alien invasion. (Six different times, in fact. That I will let you discover for yourself. If I tell you that the first is being the post World War Greece, you can imagine that things are not that going crescendo .)

And it is these few words I invite you to discover your fingertips this piece of history alive. Body Harvest is not one of these timeless masterpieces that we build bridges of brass. No, this is a working prototype of one of those ideas that changed your life without you noticing. A bit like a prehistoric highway on which the first vehicle is traveling, this game heralds the arrival of a new type of experience. Car Body Harvest is the first step that led DMA Design has become ... Rockstar North.
