Hello Bruno,
Could you introduce yourself briefly? What's your news?
I am a writer for the videogame press in recent years. I started in 2004 in the magazine Game Fan. Right now I write for GI magazine section editor and am on the Mini-mags and Wakfu Akiba Manga.
(Reminder flights from Martians landing on Earth first, then on this blog):
Ig mag is a magazine with a rather new approach, even innovative. Many writers are there records retro, but also analyzes Itw and news. Alongside Bruno Julien Pirou Dr. Lakav, Yann, or Thierry Falcoz also deal with retro gaming. Like Bruno also makes the headlines, interviews. .. The sections are not closed.
You started to gamefan then there was Game Museum and Retro Game, and IG Pix Mag No love so ... You've got a memory of each of these media? An anecdote, a milestone?
Museum Game was released in the lap of Game Fan. I keep great memories because the result was wonderful having the means at hand. I still have my copy at home! It was a bit of a Pix'n Love before time even if Pix has an editorial line more complete. Retro Game on, I have participated in the first number (from memory). Pix'n for Love, I wrote at the beginning of the adventure and it was a great pleasure because I experienced the birth of this mook. I remember at the time I still had a job "food" to be managed during the day. I also write a lot in Role Playing Game in which I wanted the retro (Nickname: Fry). As for GI Mag, it remains my best experience, for some reason. And I'm not saying this because I am still! Honestly, I'm very attached to IG, in his concept. Anecdotes, there has ten! I remember for example the great kindness of John Vechey, co-founder of PopCap Games, with whom I discussed our favorite games once the interview ended. Besides, he was so impressed that he asked the IG that he sends all the other numbers in Seattle. I do not know if they have learned from the French ^ ^.
this happens, the choice of cover, in ig mag? (Above 12 ug mag, with KIRBY!)
I find the last couv very nice, must say I'm a fan of Kirby, so it helps!
couv The choice depends on many parameters. The editorial likes to put his heart in front of shots, but then he must negotiate with the editor and if that fails, he must find a Plan B.
What made you want to write about the old video game? What is the game you prefer?
Since I was a kid, I always continued to play the old songs, in addition to those making the headlines. Seems natural when a game is good, the rest (with rare exceptions). So, talk seemed logical to highlight this side "heritage" of gaming. The desire to write about video games comes mostly from magazines that I devoured as teen (my favorite of the day: Generation 4 for the Amiga and Joypad for consoles).
The game that I prefer? There are two that I can not decide between Super Mario World and Final Fantasy VI. It is often said that perfection does not exist but in my view, these two are perfect.
A What game are you playing right now? Retro / current?
Here I recover again both Uncharted because I am a big fan of these two nuggets. Uncharted 2 was deeply marked, an absolute masterpiece. For the retro, it's Super Mario Bros.. 2/USA now.
What is your greatest memory of a game / video output of a console?
For games, I'll still get drunk with Super Mario World and Final Fantasy VI (To get drunk, I need more ^ ^). For the former, I recall having read and reread dozens of times in the test Consoles + (there were large screenshots ^ ^) before they can play. As to the second, I gnawed my brake until the U.S. version (even if I had the game in jap with a friend), I even did change my SNES to see the full ending! Before that, there was Shadow of the Beast on the Amiga, which made me aware of the artistic potential of video games.
Large memory linked to the output of a console? Hmm, again there are several! I would say: Mega Drive, SNES, Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast. For the latter, I felt we had done a good ten years in terms of graphics rendering console. When you see the 3D on the PlayStation side, it hurt a lot.
Your earliest memories?
A Game & Watch Snoopy and Atari 2600. But the passion is really born with the Atari ST and especially the Amiga (Shadow of the Beast, Turrican, etc..).
There is a little annoying about retro gaming and writing. These are the same files that are open, often there is little innovation in the themes. And very often we can read the same content (1) . Hast thou not feel that you read in some cases colleagues? Question
may reverse course ... did not you feel sometimes, to redo, rewrite on topics widely discussed by others? What is your view on this aspect of retro gaming? Tents of how you address them?
In fact, I try to make trivia and other little anecdotes read elsewhere, which is complicated because you can not rewrite history. This calls for long hours of research.
When issues are addressed at the same time, it is often a specific event (anniversary of Sonic, Mario, etc..). In GI, I still made some records back on subjects rarely addressed (If any) elsewhere: The Saga Turrican, Shadow of the Beast, Urban legends video games, etc.. I'm not saying that nobody has done before but it's pretty rare, especially in the French press paper.
You get to live your writing today? And Ig magazine, it sells well? What is the draw?
Yes, I have this chance for over a year. Before that I had to work next door to get out. For the draw, I do not have the latest figures. Mag works well (we are at equilibrium), but to earn money should be sell more.
A small revelation about your current job (one itw, a current folder in which you board) ... a message to get across?
Thanks Bruno and soon ... All booths!

How do you see the evolution of retro gaming? A simple mode?
I think there is a real demand, that will not stop anytime soon. Now, it depends how you eat the retro. As I said above, it has always been a natural reflex for me. I play as much as the novelty of the old classics that I love. For some, it's just nostalgia, while others find a way to improve their culture. I think the retro market has yet beautiful years ahead, not to mention the recent games at download and opting for a retro look and gameplay.
NEW! The question angry (or not) =>
There is a little annoying about retro gaming and writing. These are the same files that are open, often there is little innovation in the themes. And very often we can read the same content (1) . Hast thou not feel that you read in some cases colleagues? Question

Right now, I write my articles for IG # 13 and those preparing the next Mini and Wakfu Akiba Manga. No revelation cons! We like to issue a summary shortly before publication of the mag. Sorry! However, I would like to thank our readers for their support and criticism (positive or negative) that they are sharing.
... ?
You definitely want a leak? Currently, we're working on the n. 13 and all subjects are not stopped! I say you beautiful things for the second part of the record Sonic:)
